Thunder, the second-placed team in the men's Premier League, will look to close in on the top spot when they host relegation-threatened USIU-A Tigers at Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium on Saturday at 4pm.

Coach Sadat Gaya's team will also be seeking two crucial points to keep their hopes of finishing top in the regular season alive.

Thunder have 36 points from 17 wins and two losses, while USIU-A Tigers are bottom of the pile with 19 points after winning only two matches and losing 14.

"We just need to win all the remaining matches against champions KPA and Ulinzi Warriors to finish on top in the regular season," Gaya told Nation Sport.

USIU-A Tigers coach Cliffe Owuor expressed optimism about his team's chances despite their poor performance, saying, "We are a young team but still optimistic of performing better in remaining matches to avoid relegation. We are still left with many matches to end the second leg as compared to other teams that are also fighting relegation."
