On September 20, 2019, the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) fined Pastor James Ng'ang'a Sh1 million for broadcasting indecent content on his Sasa TV channel.

The incident occurred during a live church service where a woman's breast was exposed, violating the CA's rules and regulations.

According to Chris Wambua, Director of Public Affairs at CA, Pastor Ng'ang'a was first issued a warning after a similar incident took place, but he repeated the same mistake within a week.

"He has been fined Sh1 million for continuing to broadcast indecent content during the watershed period," said Mr. Wambua.

When questioned about the incident, Pastor Ng'ang'a defended himself, stating that it was not his fault during deliverance, a moment where he prays and casts out demons.

"Hata juzi nimeshtakiwa ati nimeoneshanga matiti, sasa matiti mimi sikuja kama ilikuwa imetoka maana sio yangu sasa mimi niliwaambia mimi sijui nafanya deliverance," he said.

The watershed period is between 5am to 10pm where media companies are not allowed to air adult content to protect children.
