On September 20, 2019, a report by HMD Global highlighted the top uses of smartphones among Kenyan women, with picture-taking, banking, and online shopping being the top three activities.

As women around the world strive to be their authentic selves, they are increasingly using technology to break free from societal expectations and forge their own paths. From embracing natural bodies to challenging the notion of being 'likable,' women are redefining what it means to be a woman.

Across the globe, women are creating, designing, and innovating to improve their lives, families, and communities. They are building a bridge of equality, connecting with others, and creating more prosperous and fulfilling work.

Women are dominating the technology industry, with a significant shift in their attitudes towards technology. This transformation is happening in the palm of their hands – in their cellphones.

While there are some places where cellphones are best left behind, such as when driving or during family time, women are using their smartphones to access services and balance their lives. HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, celebrates women's empowerment through technology.

According to HMD Global research, women are using their smartphones to complement their everyday tasks. An infographic developed by HMD provides further insight into this trend.
