Boosting confidence with well-manicured nails is a universal desire, but a new study has raised concerns about the potential health impact of nail polish. Published on September 20, 2019, research by Duke University has found a possible link between a common ingredient in nail polish and weight gain.

The culprit is Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP), a chemical used to preserve nail polish and make it flexible. However, research suggests that TPHP can interfere with a protein crucial for regulating metabolism and fat cell production, potentially leading to weight gain.

According to the study, nail polish can be easily absorbed into the body, causing TPHP to leach into the system and disrupt metabolism. This imbalance can result in serial weight gain, even with strict diets and regular exercise.

So, if you've been struggling to shed those extra kilos despite your best efforts, it's worth considering the potential role of your nail polish in your weight gain.
