On September 20, 2019, Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga made a surprise visit to the Makina fire victims in Kibra Constituency.
Unlike many politicians who publicize their campaign trail entries, Mariga made a quiet and secret visit to the area, distributing Ksh 200 to each of the fire victims.
Mariga was accompanied by his younger brother and a few youths during the visit.
However, he quickly left when he saw a crowd gathering, fearing they might be ODM supporters trying to intimidate him.
Despite this, Jubilee Party is scheduled to hold a rally in Kibra constituency to drum up support for Mariga's campaign.
