Published on September 20, 2019, a city woman from Mombasa has accused Lamu Senator Anwar of using and dumping her and their child.
According to Hanifa Were, 36, the Senator approached her through Facebook on April 20, 2019.
‘He texted me on messenger. I was hesitant when he introduced himself as a senator. I did not even know there was a senator by that name but after exchanging contacts we got to video chat and that’s when I confirmed it was him,’ she said.
Despite her initial apprehension, Hanifa and Anwar continued to communicate, with the Senator promising to send her more photos and even suggesting a personal meeting in Nairobi.
However, Hanifa claims that Anwar eventually stopped responding to her messages and that she has not seen or heard from him since.
It is worth noting that Saumu Mbuvi, the daughter of Governor Sonko, has been in a high-profile relationship with Anwar, with the two hinting at settling down together.
