On September 20, 2019, officers from the Flying Squad in Eldoret made a significant recovery of 12 vehicles suspected to have been stolen or illegally registered.
The vehicles were recovered from a yard at Ndaptabwa Kipsimo, Eldoret, following a tip-off from members of the public.
During the operation, one suspect, Gideon Kipkoech, was arrested.
The DCI stated that detectives are still carrying out investigations into the matter.
According to the DCI, all the recovered vehicles have been taken by detectives and will be used as exhibits.
This recovery comes after a similar operation in February 2019, where detectives unmasked a syndicate that had been cloning number plates and fraudulently registering cars for sale.
