On Thursday, a bizarre incident unfolded in Embu town when a suspected witchdoctor dumped a snake at a church and sped away.
According to eyewitnesses, the man stopped his vehicle by the roadside, opened the rear door, and removed a gunny bag containing the snake.
He then threw the bag outside Faith Keepers Church and drove off at high speed.
When residents drew closer to investigate, a snake emerged from the bag, prompting them to flee in different directions.
Fortunately, the residents regrouped, killed the snake, and burnt it.
"We were shocked when we saw the snake emerging from the bag," said Hussein Ali, a security guard who witnessed the incident.
Detectives have since asked witnesses to record statements.
