Published on September 20, 2019, a song that has left many Kenyans talking has emerged in the form of 'Septic Tank ya Wairimu.'
The song, composed by Okoth Vicky, is a reflection of the public's assumption that Sarah Wairimu, the estranged wife of the late Tob Cohen, is the prime suspect in her husband's murder.
Okoth Vicky's song warns listeners to be wary of women like Wairimu, drawing parallels with the biblical figure of Delilah.
When asked about the song, Okoth Vicky sings, 'When I think of Wairimu, I remember Delilah…Marry her at your own risk,' adding, 'beside every billionaire, there is a Wairimu.'
The song's release comes at a time when Kenyans are still reeling from the femicide of University student Ivy Wangechi, which was addressed in a song titled 'Pigwa Shoka.'
While 'Pigwa Shoka' backfired on the musicians, it remains to be seen how Kenyans will react to 'Septic Tank ya Wairimu.'
