Millie Odhiambo Defends Uhuru's Decision to Back Jubilee in Kibra By-Election ¶
Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has come out in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta's decision to back Jubilee's candidate in the Kibra by-election, McDonald Mariga.
Odhiambo, who spoke to Citizen TV on September 18, 2019, said the alliance between President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga does not mean there will be no competition in the by-election.
"Owino and I are at different levels and have different experiences. He thinks Jubilee is not fit to have a candidate," Odhiambo said, referring to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, who had criticized President Kenyatta for supporting Mariga.
However, Odhiambo said ODM supporters should not be worried because Kibra is an ODM stronghold and their candidate must be defeated.
She also claimed that Mariga is a project of Deputy President William Ruto, who is trying to show off his political prowess in the by-election against Raila Odinga.
"Kibra is ODM and ODM is Kibra," Odhiambo said.
