Published on September 19, 2019, a 19-year-old boy, Mike Okoth Clinton, was arraigned in a Homa Bay court accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl contrary to the Sexual Offences Act.
The accused was charged with intentionally and unlawfully defiling the minor on diverse dates between May 2019 and August 6, 2019, at Kabuoch village in Ndhiwa Sub-county of Homa Bay County.
He also faced an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with a child by touching her private parts contrary to section 2 (1) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2006.
Clinton denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Joy Shiundu Wesonga and requested the court to release him on a bond of Sh100, 000 with one surety of similar amount.
However, the Magistrate granted him a bond but he was unable to raise the amount and was remanded at Homa Bay GK prison.
