Published on September 19, 2019, interior designers are now turning to lettered frames as a creative way to decorate walls.
With the minimalist style of decoration taking centre stage, lettered frames have grown in popularity due to their ability to represent a variety of media within interior spaces.
According to interior designer Faazati Ali, framed word photos are quite affordable and easy to make, requiring only frames, pictures, and double-sided tape.
‘Personally, I love the balance created using photographs and word pictures as it ties the whole piece together,’ Faazati says.
When it comes to interior decor, a gallery wall is absolutely ideal as it can give a room interest and depth.
People use words that resonate with their personality, whether inspiring or funny.
For a welcoming and positive atmosphere, keep messages generalised, such as love, home, family, or home sweet home.
Letters can be placed at eye level, with smaller font letters used above a shelf placed near the ceiling in a child’s room.
Align words to room function, such as FOOD in a kitchen, WASH in a laundry area or bathroom, and READ in a study room.
Softening the edges of word art can be achieved by placing pom pom decorative flowers at the edge of the letter or wrapping the legs of the letters with close knit strings.
