Published on September 19, 2019, a report by Weekly Citizen revealed that the Njuri Ncheke Supreme Council of Elders was planning to curse Marrianne Kitany for taking Senator Mithika Linturi to court.
The move was allegedly in response to the court case, which resulted in the death of Senator Linturi's father, Peter Linturi.
According to the report, the fact that the late Linturi was a staunch member of the group was seen as a reason for Kitany to prepare for a doomed life.
The Njuri Ncheke members were said to have a history of taking credit for tribulations faced by others, including former British Prime Minister Theresa May, who resigned after banning miraa imports.
Inside sources revealed that plans were at final stages to perform the last rite that would make Kitany regret the rest of her life.
During the burial of Mzee Linturi at his Igembe South home, Kitany's name was nowhere to be found when the eulogy was read.
