On September 19, 2019, Jambojet received approval to operate flights to Kigali, Rwanda, marking a significant milestone in its regional expansion strategy.

According to Vincent Rague, Chairman of Jambojet, the airline is pleased to have received this approval and plans to begin operations once everything is in place.

The airline has also acquired a brand new De Havilland Dash 8 – Q400 aircraft, which brings the total number of airplanes operated by Jambojet to six. This is the first of four aircraft expected to arrive this year, boosting the airline's capacity and enabling it to soar into more African destinations.

Jambojet's Chief Executive Officer, Allan Kilavuka, expressed excitement about the airline's growth prospects in the region, citing an aggressive plan to fly to more African destinations and expand its fleet.

With the addition of this new aircraft, Jambojet now boasts an average fleet age of 3.7 years, making it the airline with the youngest fleet in Africa and possibly across the world.

Currently, Jambojet operates flights to five local destinations and one regional destination, Entebbe, Uganda, from its hub in Nairobi. The airline also flies to Bujumbura, Burundi, on behalf of the national carrier.

As the African aviation sector continues to grow, Jambojet's Chairman, Vincent Rague, emphasized the opportunity for more players to enter the market, citing the airline's low-cost model and safety standards as key advantages.
