Published on September 19, 2019, Wazito FC head coach Fred Ambani is optimistic that his team will finally break their Kenyan Premier League (KPL) drought when they host AFC Leopards at the Bukhungu Stadium on Saturday.

Despite making big signings during the transfer window, Wazito FC has been sub-par on the pitch, drawing 1-1 with Nzoia Sugar in their season-opening clash and drawing 0-0 last weekend at Western Stima.

Ambani, a former Leopards striker, refutes claims that the technical bench is under pressure to perform, saying two draws are an indication that the team can now win the next match and stay hopeful of winning the league instead of just finishing in a respectable position.

Wazito FC captain Dan Owino echoes the sentiments of his coach, declaring that this Saturday will be a turning point for the money spenders.

"I think according to our training this week I can say that we are ready to face our opponents," Owino said.

"Since the league started we have not won any match but I believe we are going to collect our first maximum points this weekend this season," he added.

Wazito FC is keen to apply an attacking style of play different from how they have been playing in their first two matches.

"Against AFC Leopards I think we are going to attack more and I’m confident we are going for a win," Owino said.
