Located in Kitengela mall, the new Artcaffé branch is a shiny addition to the Artcaffé Group outlets, capable of seating up to 130 people. The use of glass to separate different areas creates a sparkling effect at night, making it an ideal spot for a first date.
Upon entering, you'll notice the contrast between the buzzing vibe inside and the small outside sitting area. The tiered hanging plants and high stools make it better suited for sunny afternoons and casual lunches.
As I sipped my white wine sangria, which had a spicy kick, I felt optimistic about the food. Unfortunately, the falafel burger was poorly seasoned and dry, but the Margherita Basilico pizza was a highlight, with a well-seasoned sauce and just the right amount of mozzarella.
Despite the mixed experience, the dessert was outstanding, with the passion and white chocolate cake being a refreshing surprise. The signature salted caramel cake was the perfect way to round off the evening.
While Artcaffé's new Kitengela branch has its flaws, it remains a convenient social hub with something for everyone. Locals can now enjoy its various offerings without venturing far from home.
