September 19, 2019, was a day that will be etched in the memories of many Kenyans, thanks to a viral video that highlighted the dark reality of bullying in schools.

The video, which has been making rounds on social media, shows a child reacting to being bullied by his classmate. The child uses adult language and threatens to kill his classmate, leaving many to wonder about the root cause of such behavior.

Author Abigail Arunga, who wrote about the video, notes that the incident is a symptom of a larger problem – bullying in schools. She argues that bullying can push children to extreme measures, including suicide, and that it is the responsibility of parents and adults to remind them that life is not so bad after school ends.

Arunga also highlights the need for parents to be more involved in their children's lives, to regulate their phones and television viewing, and to provide them with the tools to overcome the battles they cannot fight for them.

As the conversation around bullying in schools continues, it is clear that there is a need for more attention to be given to this issue. By working together, we can create a safer and more supportive environment for our children to grow and thrive.
