Published on September 19, 2019, ODM party leader Raila Odinga is reportedly fuming over the bungled Kibra by-election nominations, which have left several party officials in the firing line.
According to sources, Raila has called for a meeting to address the irregularities in the party voters' register, which were allegedly introduced by top officials at the secretariat.
Several top party officials, including Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, National Chairman John Mbadi, and Director of Elections Junet Mohammed, were present at the meeting.
It is alleged that the mistakes in the register were introduced and confirmed that heads would soon roll at the secretariat.
Those likely to be sacked or demoted include Joshua Kawino (Finance director), Phillip Etale (Communications director), Peter Otuoma (ICT manager), Moses Oteko (Records officer), Judy Pareno (National election board chairperson), Edwin Sifuna (Secretary General), Oduor Ongwen (Executive director), and John Mbadi (National Chairman).
It is intimated that Sifuna owned up to the errors and apologized to the party leader since the register 'came from his office'. Mbadi also confirmed that the outfit was planning major restructuring, but de-linked the reforms from the alleged bungling of the Kibra primaries.
