Father, Son, and Grandchild Killed in Grisly Accident on Nairobi-Machakos Highway

On Wednesday night, a devastating accident occurred on the Nairobi-Machakos highway, claiming the lives of three family members.

Samuel Mutunga, a well-known Machakos businessman, also known as Uncle Sam, was among those who lost their lives in the accident, along with his son and grandson.

The accident occurred when the vehicle they were in collided head-on with a 14-seater Nissan matatu at Kanaani (Katheka Kai).

According to reports, Mutunga's son, Roy Mwendwa, was driving the saloon car at the time of the accident.

Tragically, Mutunga died on Thursday morning in hospital, while his son and grandson succumbed to their injuries later in the day.

The driver of the matatu died instantly, and the bodies have been moved to Machakos Hospital mortuary.

David Mwongela, Machakos Director of Emergency Services, stated that four people who were critically injured were still being treated at Machakos Level Five facility.

Additionally, 14 others who had been taken to Machakos Level Four Hospital were treated and discharged.
