Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has extended his contract at Old Trafford until 2024, with the option to extend by an additional year, amid reported interest from Barcelona.
According to Manchester United's official website, Lindelof's new deal will see his salary rise from £60,000 per week to about £150,000 weekly.
At 25 years old, Lindelof has featured 74 times for United since his arrival in 2017, playing in the heart of the Red Devils' defence alongside Harry Maguire.
Speaking with the club's official website, Lindelof revealed why he decided to pen an extension, saying: "Since the day I arrived at United it has felt like home. I have grown significantly both as a player and as a person in the last two years and for that I am grateful to everyone at the club for their help and support."
He added: "I love playing football and my aim now is to help the team to win trophies and repay the fans for their unrivalled support. I know that everyone at the club shares this vision and will give everything to get Manchester United back to where it belongs."
