Former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Sam Nyamweya has announced his intentions to make a comeback in the same capacity, citing pressure from stakeholders.
According to Nyamweya, he has been inundated with calls and visits from football stakeholders across the country, requesting his return to football management.
‘I have been inundated by calls and visits by delegations of principal football stakeholders, drawn from different parts of our great nation of Kenya, some travelling many kilometres from far-flung areas of our country, to seek my wise counsel and request to offer leadership and direction on the management of the beautiful game and its future growth,’ said Nyamweya.
With this announcement, Nyamweya becomes the third person to express interest in the FKF presidency, following incumbent Nick Mwendwa and former Vihiga governor Moses Akaranga.
It is worth noting that Nyamweya opted out of the FKF elections four years ago, a decision that handed victory to Mwendwa.
The next FKF elections are scheduled to take place by February 2020.
