Published on September 19, 2019, Saumu Sonko's social media post has left many talking about her efforts to win over the mother of Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip.
On Wednesday, Saumu shared a video featuring Senator Anwar's mother being interviewed by a local TV station, Citizen. In the feature, the senator's mother shares her life journey and the challenges she overcame to achieve her goals.
Saumu, who is a mother of one, urged her fans to watch the interview, calling her 'mother-in-law' an 'amazing woman' who inspires and challenges others.
“Catch my mother in-law tonight on Citizen, strength of a woman. I love how you inspire us and challenge us all, you are an amazing woman,” she wrote.
It's worth noting that Saumu and Senator Anwar first made headlines in June 2019 when he was assaulted at a popular nightclub on Thika Road, where they had been socializing. The attack left the senator seriously injured and he was hospitalized in Nairobi.
Days later, while Senator Anwar was recovering, Saumu sent him a sweet message, referring to him as her 'future'. She later dropped another hint suggesting that the two are a couple.
However, early this week, Senator Anwar was hit with a fresh scandal following claims by a 36-year-old woman that he impregnated and then ditched her. The senator has since denied the accusations.
