On September 18, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the wife of late Tob Cohen, was adamant that her husband's body should not be released to anyone until his murder case was solved.
Her lawyer, Philip Murgo, had instructed the Chiromo mortuary to withhold the body until the case was concluded.
According to Murgo, it was impossible for Cohen's family to take his body without the court's permission, citing the Kenyan Constitution.
However, Cohen's family had earlier stated that they would arrange for his burial once the postmortem was conducted.
It now seems that they may need to obtain a court order to proceed with the burial.
Wairimu had also stated that she and Cohen were married in court and that she needed permission to bury him with dignity.
