On a memorable day at the Mbaraki grounds in Mombasa, Bandari came from behind to claim a 3-2 win over Zoo Kericho in their Kenyan Premier League clash on September 18, 2019.
Collins Neto's first-half brace had given Zoo Kericho a 2-0 lead at halftime, but Bandari hit back in the second half with a series of impressive goals.
William Wadri's long strike sparked the comeback, followed by Yema Mwama's equalizer just two minutes later. Mohammed Katana then celebrated his return to local football with a beautifully executed corner-kick that earned Bandari three valuable points.
Katana, who is known as 'Messi' due to his ball artistry, scored the winning goal in the 68th minute, beating Brian Lumumba, the Zoo Kericho goalkeeper.
"It's satisfying to return home and score such a beautiful goal that turned out to be the winning goal," Katana said.
Bandari's Bernard Mwalala praised his team's comeback, saying they had prepared for a tough match but were caught off guard by Zoo Kericho's quick goals.
"The boys have now learnt their lesson," Mwalala added.
Zoo Kericho's Herman Iswekha blamed laxity in defence for the loss and promised to rectify that in training.
