On September 18, 2019, a court order ensured that Sarah Wairimu, the widow of Dutch Tycoon Tob Cohen, was present at the Chiromo Funeral Parlour for the autopsy of her husband.
Wairimu's lawyer, Phillip Murgor, had obtained a court order from Lady Justice Stella Mutuku, compelling prisons authorities to allow her client to attend the postmortem examination.
Initially, the autopsy was scheduled for 9:30 am on Wednesday, but it was rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon to accommodate Wairimu's presence.
According to Murgor, the order was being extracted to be served to prison authorities, who would then bring Wairimu to the mortuary.
Wairimu is being held at the Langata women's prison.
Before the autopsy, Cohen's body had undergone an X-ray, and the exercise was initially meant to be conducted on Tuesday but was aborted after Murgor rejected the Government Pathologist on duty, Dr. Peter Ndegwa.
