Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to reunite with Edna and two other women who helped him when he was struggling with hunger as a child in Madeira, Portugal.

During an emotional interview with Piers Morgan on September 17, 2019, Ronaldo revealed how he and his friends would often beg for burgers at a McDonald's restaurant near their stadium, courtesy of hunger.

"We were a little hungry. We have a McDonald's next to the stadium, we knocked on the door and asked if they had any burgers," Ronaldo was quoted as saying on ITV.

Interestingly, the McDonald's restaurant is no longer in existence, but Ronaldo insists he wants to find Edna and the other women to "give something back" for their assistance in the past.

"I want to invite them to Turin or Lisbon to come have dinner with me because I want to give something back," Ronaldo added.
