Monica Okoth, the widow of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, has rejected DNA results confirming the lawmaker sired Nairobi nominated MCA Anne Thumbi's 4-year-old son.
According to court documents, the DNA test results released on September 5, 2019, showed a 99.99 per cent chance that Okoth, who died on July 26, was the biological father of Thumbi's child.
However, Monica Okoth has commissioned independent DNA tests on Okoth and Thumbi's son, and is yet to receive the results. She has been given 14 days to file her own DNA results for the disputed child.
Okoth's mother, Angeline Ajwang, has accepted the DNA test results, asking the court to terminate Thumbi's case seeking to establish the paternity of her son.
Thumbi's lawyer, Elkana Mogaka, has requested the court to close the files of the case, affirming that the September 5, 2019 DNA test outcome is reliable.
Obura directed that the matter be mentioned on October 2 after Monica's independent DNA test results.
