Kenyan radio personality Kamene Goro has bravely shared her harrowing experience of sinking into depression and attempting to take her own life after her husband's infidelity.

According to an interview with True Love Magazine in September 2019, Kamene's marriage to a Tanzania-based South African tycoon ended in a tumultuous affair, with her husband cheating on her multiple times.

She revealed that she took about 70 sleeping pills in a desperate attempt to end her life, but fortunately, she came to her senses and sought medical help at an AAR clinic nearby.

"Towards the end of my marriage, I was depressed. I popped about 70 sleeping pills to end it all. But just when I started to feel woozy, I heard a still voice asking, do you not trust me to handle this for you," she recalled.

Despite the hardships she faced, Kamene found solace in her work as a news presenter at Ebru TV, throwing herself into her job to cope with the emotional turmoil.

"I threw myself into my work. I would get into the office at 7 am in the morning and leave at around 11 pm, go have a glass of wine then get home at 1 pm for two hours sleep before starting all over again," she said.
