On September 16, 2019, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party General Secretary Edwin Sifuna addressed a meeting at the ODM party stronghold in AIC grounds in Kibra, attended by the ODM Party's branches, ward leaders, and delegates.

At the meeting, Sifuna accused Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula of betraying the NASA coalition by fielding their preferred candidates in the Kibra by-election.

According to Sifuna, if Mudavadi was going to be made a compromised presidential candidate in 2022, his dream would surely die in the Kibra by-elections since Mudavadi declared war on the ODM party.

ODM has previously stated that Kibra is a party stronghold and it is fronting Bernard Imran Okoth to fly the ODM flag in the November 7 Kibra by-elections.

Responding to the allegations, Sifuna stated that there is no holy political ground from the NASA leaders since Mudavadi and Wetang'ula fielded their candidates to spoil for a fight, and therefore ODM will also field their candidate in Bungoma and Mululu, considering they are the two leaders' stronghold.

ODM has accused NASA leaders of betraying the coalition by fielding their preferred candidates in the Kibra by-election.
