Naivasha is gearing up to host the highly anticipated 'Hill Climb' competition on Saturday, with organisers assuring participants of their safety and a better-organised event.
According to Daven Jadeja, the Hill Climb competition director, preparations for the event are at an advanced stage, with a few changes made to the spectator area to enable the installation of greater viewing facilities. 'We are looking forward to this year's Powerlast Hill Climb, which promises to be a bigger event for the whole family,' Jadeja said.
Yuvraj Rajput, the winner of the Kenya National Auto Bambino championship, will compete in the Bambino Class, while Wayne Fernandes, who sealed his 2019 championship title in the Quad class, will also be part of the 24 entrants in the weekend's competition.
The competition will be held at Malewa Bay, situated on Moi North Lake road in the outskirts of Naivasha, and will feature a three-kilometre stretch that has been graded to allow competitors to achieve the highest speeds and set the quickest time on the uphill stretch.
Each competitor will have the chance to go uphill as far as possible and at the fastest possible speed in their respective machines, with the stretch starting from the bottom of the hill at an altitude of 1,900 metres to the top, which lies at 2,200 meters.
