Published on September 17, 2019, AFC Leopards has been plagued by financial issues, with players protesting unpaid allowances since the beginning of the season.
Established in 1964, the club has a rich history of producing great names in Kenyan soccer, including Joe Lidonde, JJ Masiga, Mickey Weche, Bonface Mulamba, and Francis Kadenge. However, decades of relying on political handouts and donations have made the club financially unstable, subjecting it to humiliation and even possible relegation.
Enter Susan Wamalwa, a leader from the Luhyia nation who is willing to take the reins and turn AFC Leopards' fortunes around. As the club's Treasurer, Susan brings over 17 years of experience in sales and marketing, as well as tested and tried skills, knowledge, and fiduciary responsibility.
With a proven track record of increasing membership enrollment, forging sound investments, and partnerships with organizations like Crown, Phillips, and Siemens, Susan is confident in her ability to bring in new sponsors and ensure the club's financial streams never run dry.
As a business development manager and marketing manager, Susan understands the operational and administrative aspects of an evolving organization. She plans to increase membership enrollment, gate collection, and ensure that players are paid well and timely, so the fear of unpaid allowances does not affect their games.
Delina Kingasia, one of Susan's supporters, believes she would make a great Treasurer and leader in the AFC Leopards organization, saying she is well-deserving and more than qualified.
AFC Leopards' members are requested to come forward and support Susan Wamalwa during the upcoming elections.
