Kenyan billionaire businessman Chris Kirubi has finally confirmed that he has been battling with cancer, a condition he says can be cured if discovered at an early stage.
According to an undated video posted on Facebook by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Kirubi revealed that he was cured of cancer after treatment, but did not disclose the type of cancer he was suffering from.
“It is hard to manage stage three and four cancers,” Kirubi said in the video, urging people to have frequent screening for the deadly disease.
News about his illness was first announced in November 2017 by Centum Chief Executive Officer James Mworia in a memo to Centum employees, but details of what he was suffering from remained scanty at the time.
Kirubi was first flown to the United States for specialized treatment in November 2017 and returned to the country in March 2018 after an extended medical trip abroad.
