According to Phillip Wambugu, the County Commissioner of Malindi, the suspects were arrested in the Timboni area after a thorough investigation sparked by reports from local residents.
During the raid, police officers recovered several firearms and ammunition, which were seized as evidence.
Wambugu assured the public that the suspects would be protected and that the investigation would be conducted fairly.
Anthony Sunguti, the Director of Criminal Investigations in Malindi, stated that the suspects' names would not be disclosed until the investigation was complete.
Sunguti further emphasized that the case would be taken to court on September 16, 2019, and that the suspects would be barred from interfering with the investigation.
