On September 15, 2019, Arsenal's hopes of a convincing win against Watford were dashed by two defensive errors, resulting in a 2-2 draw at Vicarage Road.

Watford capitalized on a sloppy pass by Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the opening minutes of the second half, with Gerard Deulofeu intercepting the ball to set up Tom Cleverley, who pulled one back for the hosts.

Unai Emery believes Arsenal must learn from defensive mistakes made against Watford to get their campaign back on track.

Roberto Pereyra completed the sensational comeback nine minutes from time, converting from the penalty spot after being fouled by David Luiz in the dangerous area.

Emery reacted to the defensive howlers, saying, "We conceded some mistakes which were very dangerous for us. The first goal is like that, but we need to learn and correct that."

He added, "The result is disappointing for us, because after 2-0, we had chances in the second-half to win, but we can only work on our mistakes today for the next matches."

The frustrating results saw the north London side drop to seventh on the standings with eight points from five matches.

They will be seeking to make amends when they host Aston Villa at the Emirates in their next Premier League match scheduled for Sunday, September 22.
