On September 16, 2019, Equity Bank became the newest member of the SME Finance Forum, a global network of over 150 financial institutions working to expand access to finance for small and medium businesses.
According to Matthew Gamser, CEO of the Forum, '200 million businesses worldwide need financing to invest, grow and create new jobs. We are proud to have Equity Bank join our network.'
Equity Bank, licensed under the Kenya Banking Act, offers retail banking, microfinance, and related services in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The bank has also expanded its presence to Zambia and Mozambique through a preliminary agreement with Atlas Mara.
