Watford's Quique Sanchez Flores enjoyed a triumphant return to Vicarage Road as his team staged a remarkable second-half comeback to draw 2-2 with Arsenal on September 15, 2019.

Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looked to have sealed the win with two goals in 11 minutes before the break, but Watford's spirited fightback was sparked by Sanchez Flores, who was appointed as Hornets' boss for the second time just a week earlier.

Arsenal's defense was culpable in their own downfall, gifting possession away inside their own box for Tom Cleverley to pull a goal back, before David Luiz's foul on Roberto Pereyra allowed the Argentine to slot home the resulting penalty.

The draw sees Arsenal move level with Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Leicester in the early season battle for a top-four finish, while Watford will feel they should have won the game, given their second-half display.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery's inability to find a balance between his team's brilliant attack and shoddy defense continued to be a concern, as Watford's second-half pressure ultimately paid off.

The match saw a number of near-misses for Watford, including a shot from Abdoulaye Doucoure that was too close to Bernd Leno in stoppage time, leaving Watford still bottom of the Premier League table.
