Manchester City's Premier League title hopes took a hit on Saturday, September 14, as they suffered their first defeat of the season against Norwich City.
Despite the loss, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remained optimistic, jokingly congratulating Liverpool on their title win.
Guardiola's comment came after Liverpool's impressive start to the season, with the team winning all their games and topping the League standings with 15 points.
Manchester City, on the other hand, are now five points behind their rivals, with Guardiola acknowledging that his side must make amends in the upcoming matches to effectively challenge Liverpool for the title.
"We are in September, OK? Congratulations Liverpool, you are the champions. We’re in September, what do you have to do? We’ll recover, train and come back," Guardiola jokingly said according to UK Sun.
Guardiola also reflected on Manchester City's performance, stating, "We’ve dropped five points. Tottenham which ended 2-2, we played incredibly well. Today, in the important parts we have to know exactly what to do,''
