On a Sunday, a nasty case of politics played out in Nanyuki when Maina Kamanda, a member of the Kieleweke faction, was chased away from the AIPCA Church.

According to a video accessed by Nyakundi Report on September 15, 2019, a large crowd bearing placards protested Kamanda's presence, with one placard reading, 'Maina stop fighting your grand children.'

This incident marked another weekend of trouble for Kamanda, who has been facing opposition in the Mount Kenya region.

Just a week prior, Kamanda had a confrontation with Kiharu lawmaker Ndindi Nyoro during a fundraiser in Murang'a.

The two politicians had a physical altercation with their supporters, with Nyoro accusing Kamanda of phoning him to warn him for supporting Deputy President William Ruto's Tangatanga faction.
