Former Gatundu North MP Patrick Muiruri, a close friend of the late Tob Cohen, has spoken out about the strained relationship between Cohen and his wife, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho.

According to Muiruri, Cohen had complained to the authorities about his life being in danger, and had even told his friend that if anything happened to him, his wife should be held responsible.

Speaking to the media on September 13, Muiruri revealed that he had talked to Cohen on the day he went missing, July 19, and that Cohen had expressed his fear for his life.

On the night of Cohen's murder, Muiruri said he had spoken to Cohen for 15 minutes, during which Cohen had expressed his concerns about his life and had even complained to the authorities.

As reported earlier, Cohen was last seen on July 19 and had been missing for 43 days before his body was found in an underground tank at his home.

Wairimu is currently remanded at Lang'ata Women's Prison in connection to the murder, and has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation to determine her fitness to stand trial.
