On Thursday, award-winning artist Rihanna made a triumphant return to the music scene with a performance at her 5th annual Diamond Ball, benefiting The Clara Lionel Foundation. The event, held on September 12, 2019, was a star-studded affair, with Rihanna taking to the stage alongside fellow musician Pharrel.
However, the focus of the evening quickly shifted from Rihanna's stunning Givenchy Haute Couture mermaid gown to speculation surrounding her personal life. Fans and onlookers alike couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a baby bump, sparking rumors of an impending pregnancy.
While speaking to Essence Magazine on the red carpet, Rihanna spoke about the importance of being true to oneself and the influence of the women in her life. In a poignant statement, she said,
“I am a black woman. I come from a black woman, who came from a black woman, who came from a black woman and I’m gonna give birth to a black woman.”
Her words, however, did little to quell the rumors surrounding her personal life.
Not everyone was convinced by the rumors, with some fans taking to social media to express their skepticism. This isn't the first time Rihanna has faced pregnancy speculation, with fans previously convinced she was expecting in 2017 after she started dating her current boyfriend, billionaire Hassan Jamal.
