September 11, 2019, marked a significant day for Jane Wawira Mugo, a woman accused by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of being a key suspect in a crime. According to reports, Mugo's life is now in danger.
Speaking to the press, Mugo alleged that the warrant of arrest issued against her was a result of her being targeted by her colleagues who fear for their lives. She claimed that she had not been given the opportunity to record a statement with the police regarding the allegations made against her.
As a result, Mugo has now filed a complaint with the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) regarding the allegations made against her. She stated that she had not been given the chance to record a statement with the police regarding the allegations made against her.
Earlier reports by TUKO.co.ke had indicated that Mugo had been accused of being a key suspect in a crime, with allegations including theft and attempted murder. It was also reported that she had been working as a senior officer at Trimo Security Limited.
The warrant of arrest was issued by the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi after it was discovered that Mugo had been extorting money from individuals and threatening to kill them.
