Belgian League star Mbwana Samatta, who earned the Golden Boot with 20 goals last season, is currently joint top scorer in the 2019/20 campaign with five goals alongside Congolese forward Dieumerci Mbokani.

Samatta, who showed Africans his capabilities at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, is now set to face Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League group E tie.

"I thank God because he continues to provide awesome blessings on me. I have played in the Europa League and now the Champions League is just around the corner," Samatta told Daily News.

"It will be a dream to play at Anfield and I am looking forward to the match," he said.

Genk faces Salzburg, Liverpool, and Napoli in Group E of the European club competition.

Despite being aware of the challenge ahead, Samatta is well aware of the task at hand for the Belgian First Division A champions.

"We are not among the favourite teams to do well in comparison with Liverpool, Napoli as well as Salzburg because they have vast experience in the competition," Samatta said.
