Two Congolese Men Arrested for Hawking Jewelry in Bondo

Published on September 12, 2019, two Congolese men are in custody at the Bondo Police Station for being in the country illegally.

According to the area assistant chief, William Oreme, Jackson Kamiot, 22, and Asili Nyankozi, 21, were found hawking jewelry at Wagusu Trading Center in West Migwena sub-location.

They had no valid documents allowing them to be in Kenya, with one of them having an expired passport that was due to expire in August.

Upon further interrogation, one of the foreigners claimed that he thought his passport was to expire in January 2020.

They are to be arraigned in court to face charges of being in the country illegally, as per the Immigration Act Chapter 172.
