On September 11, 2019, Tanzanian stand-up comedienne and actress Boss Martha passed away after a short illness, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and a five-year-old son with her ex-partner Bongo flava star Mbosso.

Martha, who rose to fame through the popular Cheka Tu Stand Up Comedy Show in Tanzania, had been suffering from Meningitis before her untimely death.

Mbosso, who had an on-and-off love affair with Martha for five years, took to Instagram to mourn his baby mama, sharing a heartfelt tribute that read in part: 'Wallah Moyo wangu unauma Martha, hukupaswa kuondoka wakati huu, Mapema mno Dah..!! “Nenda Martha Mwingi Furaha na Ucheshi, Hata Mama Kasema Leo Msiba..:, ‘ jana ulikuwa unatabasamu hadi ulipofumba Macho.”

Despite their split, Mbosso and Martha maintained a healthy relationship as they co-parented their young son.
