Pauline Omirera, a US-based nurse, has a vision to build a health and wellness center in Kenya to provide medical services and education to the community. Her journey began when she decided to go back to school in her 40s, studying nursing, a career that aligns with her passion for serving those who need help.

After researching the statistics of preventable deaths related to poor sanitation and nutrition, dirty water, unhygienic living conditions, and lack of knowledge, Omirera had a light bulb moment for the health and wellness center. In 2018, she visited Kenya and delved into the statistics, which gave her a strong impression to come back and do something for her community.

With the support of like-minded people in the US and Kenya, Omirera acquired a four-acre land in Nyamarambe Town, Kisii County, which met her expectations. The project, Heavens Hands of Hope, aims to provide prevention and wellness services through various programs, enhancing the health and well-being of families in Riagumo and its surrounding areas.

The wellness center is being built and runs through donations from well-wishers and members of the project. Omirera notes that the biggest source of funding is God Himself, who is their inspiration and owns the world, as stated in Psalm 24:1-2. The project has also partnered with organizations like Wildwood in the US and ADRA Kenya.

Omirera, known as the 'Spiritual Nurse,' says the center will offer more than just healthy living services and education. Her inspiration and motivation come from God, and she depends and draws strength from Him. The wellness center will be faith-based, and with God, she knows nothing is impossible.

As the saying goes, charity begins at home, the first health camp Omirera conducted was in her home town. She brought together a team of over 20 people from the US and Kenya and hosted them in her rural home. The locals received medical tests and sensitization in the prevention and management of chronic ailments.

Omirera expects to have a reduction in mortality rate, happier and healthy lives in a three-year period after the set up of the center. The design of the project is anticipated to be sustainable for generations.
