DCI Hunts Woman Wanted for Threats, Abduction, and Robbery ¶
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have launched a hunt for a woman accused of various crimes, including robbery with violence, personation, and threatening to kill.
The suspect, Jane Wawira Mugo, claims to be a private investigator and CEO of Trimo Security Limited, but the DCI says she has a history of committing serious offenses.
According to the DCI, Wawira was accused of drawing a pistol and threatening to kill a man at New Muthaiga Estate on August 15 this year, allegedly because he was spying for a relative of the Director in a company where she was the private investigator.
Wawira has been accused of committing several crimes, including detaining a man for hours after forcing him to pay Ksh.440,000 in 2015, and personating a public servant by storming the office of the detained man's lawyer and ransacking his house.
She was also accused of abducting a Nairobi businessman and forcing him to pay a debt of Ksh.400,000 in 2015, and her employees were accused of robbing a man of Ksh.90,000 in 2016.
The DCI says all the cases against Wawira were withdrawn under Section 204 of the Penal Code, but a fresh warrant of arrest has now been issued against her.
The DCI is urging Wawira to surrender to the nearest police station, but a hunt for her continues.
