Gor Mahia's Algeria Trip in Jeopardy

Kenyan football club Gor Mahia's trip to Algeria for the CAF Champions League is facing a major setback due to financial difficulties.

The club was scheduled to play against USM Alger in the first round of the competition on September 15, but their plans have been put in jeopardy after they failed to raise enough funds for the trip.

According to Gor Mahia's chairman, Ambrose Rachier, the club was unable to raise the necessary funds for the trip due to a lack of support from fans and sponsors.

"We did not raise enough funds to cover the costs of the trip, including accommodation and transportation for the players and officials," Rachier said in an interview with Goal.

He added that the club had received some donations, but they were not enough to cover the costs of the trip.

"We had some donations, but they were not enough to cover the costs of the trip. We are still waiting for more donations to come in," Rachier said.

The club's financial woes have been a major concern for some time, and this latest setback is a major blow to their chances of competing in the CAF Champions League.
