On Tuesday night, a botched robbery incident in Zimmerman, Nairobi, resulted in the deaths of two suspected thugs. Crude weapons were found on the slain men.
According to police, the two were part of a gang that had been attacking and robbing locals. An alarm was raised, alerting police, who responded to the scene.
Police also recovered stolen property from the slain men, bringing the number of suspects killed yesterday alone to five. Three others had been killed in Kayole in a botched robbery on a woman.
The bodies were moved to the mortuary. Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo stated that they have enhanced police patrols in the city to contain different forms of crime.
Additionally, in Kasarani, a policewoman was attacked and robbed of her gun and other valuables while on patrol with other colleagues. A hunt for the men behind the incident is ongoing.
