Published on September 10, 2019, a video shared by Facebook user Prince Otach showed Peggy, a Kenyan woman, living on the streets of the United Kingdom.

According to Peggy, she went to the UK for further studies, specifically to pursue a Master's in International Marketing, but ended up on the streets after completing her degree.

Despite her mother's warning that something bad would befall her, Peggy returned to the UK, where she struggled to find help. In a video, she explained that she had searched for assistance from various offices, but was turned down because she was not mentally challenged, physically disabled, or had a criminal record.

"I have a daughter, and I am a girl," Peggy said emotionally, "but they still declined to help me."

Following the release of the video, a group of Kenyans in the UK came together to help Peggy. A hotel initially refused to accommodate her, but eventually, a friend, Elizabeth Lilian, was able to convince her to leave the streets. Peggy was then hosted by Shantelle Sharon, who took time off work to care for her.

During her time on the streets, Peggy faced physical and sexual assault, but was also shown kindness by well-wishers who bought her clothes and socks on Valentine's Day.
