Published on September 10, 2019, Mbunge wa Gatundu Kusini Moses Kuria has cautioned fellow politicians against publicly announcing threats to their lives.

Through a Facebook post on Monday, Kuria claimed that some people enjoy hearing such news due to the animosity they have towards certain politicians.

'Wanatuchukia sana. Ni vyema tukabiliane na hali hiyo kwa usiri,' Kuria said.

The post sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans who criticized Kuria for being hypocritical, given that he had previously publicly announced that his life was under threat.

Some of the reactions included:

  • 'Yet when you felt your life was under threat you shouted from the clouds, but now you want someone else to be silent of their fears' - Sandrah Njoki
  • 'You are losing it, I hope you have honest friends who can candidly tell you. Don't forget we remember the other day you were shouting at the top of your voice that your life is in danger..... Kwani do think your was a special case?' - Kennedy Ndegwa Kuria
  • 'So you want leaders to be eliminated silently and selectively, kesho they'll come for you and you'll be here crying like a baby..' - Kibor Ke
  • 'Last Time I Checked you told us your life was in danger now you won't other's to deal with the matter quietly. Oops' - Kimathi Njuguna
  • 'When it’s your life you deal with it in public, when it's others they can deal with' - William Kamau
